A dedicated and experienced football manager, Mick has been a prominent figure in North East women’s football for over a decade. After many years in the men’s game, he made the transition to women’s football in 2011, beginning his journey at Forest Hall.
In 2014, joined the prestigious setup at Newcastle United Women, where he spent two successful seasons honing his skills watching manager’s Michael Havelock and then former Premier League player Trevor Benjamin. His next chapter began in 2016 when he took the helm of South Shields Ladies Reserves, guiding the team for two full seasons. Following a period assisting West Allotment Celtic through to the end of their 2018 season winning the League Cup, he embarked on a significant tenure with Wallsend Women in 2019.
His time at Wallsend was marked by versatility and a deep commitment to player development. After a brief six-month spell managing Tynedale Ladies, he returned to Wallsend to hold various key positions, including managing the Development team and later the U23s squad.
Seeking a new challenge for the 2024/25 season, Mick accepted the position of Manager for Heaton Hawks Ladies, where he currently leads the team with a focus on building a competitive and positive future for the club.
