Venue: Essity Park
Kick-off: 1:30 PM
Colours: Prudhoe Town vs Heaton Hawks
Back on the Road
After a weekend that tested our resolve to the absolute limit at John Spence, the Heaton Hawks are back on the road this Sunday for a trip to Essity Park. While last weekโs 2-0 scoreline didn’t go our way, the performance served as a powerful reminder of the character within this squad.
Facing a clinical North Shields side with only 13 players and no natural goalkeeper, the team put in a shift that would make any manager proud. We saw players stepping into unfamiliar roles without a second thought, epitomized by Ellenโs heroics between the sticks for 70 minutes before showing her quality outfield. Itโs that exact selflessness and willingness to give everything for the shirt that weโll be carrying with us into this weekend’s clash.
Tactical Outlook
Expect the Hawks to return to their signature style at Essity Park. We will be looking to re-establish our 352 formation and get back to our roots: playing a passing game and building patiently from the back.
Prudhoe Town are a established outfit who will offer a stern test, but on a fresh pitch and with hopefully a few more bodies returning to the squad, we are aiming to dictate the tempo and use the width of the pitch to our advantage.
The Opposition
Prudhoe Town are always a tough nut to crack on their own turf. They are a well-drilled side that can take their chances if given an opening. However, the spirit in the Hawks’ camp remains high. Last weekโs “backs against the wall” display has only sharpened our focus.
We go there looking to keep climbing that table and to represent the blue and yellow with the same fire we’ve shown all season.
Onwards and Upwards!
